Wicked Lovely review

Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1)Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

All teenagers have problems, but few of them can match those of Aislinn, who has the power to see faeries. Quite understandably, she wishes that she could share her friends' obliviousness and tries hard to avoid these invisible intruders. But one fairy in particular refuses to leave her alone. Keenan the Summer King is convinced beyond all reasoning that Aislinn is the queen he has been seeking for nine centuries. What's a 21st-century girl to do when she's stalked by a suitor nobody else can see? A debut fantasy romance for the ages; superlative summer read.

My Review:

I am usually not the one for fairy stories but this one was different.I actually enjoyed reading it! I loved the plot and the characters. It was very different from all the fairy related books I have ever read.

Here is Aislinn who is taught for as long as she can remember by her Grams that she is not supposed to attract faeries' attention or let them know that she can see them. She always tries her best to act as if no one is around when in reality lot of creepy faeries are playing with someones hair or laughing around. But when one fairy starts stalking her she gets panicked. Especially a fairy who puts on a glamour of a smoking hot human boy in front of her friends who goes all gaga over him.

Her problems are not solved when she finds out that the fairy is Keenan - the summer king who has been searching for his queen for nine centuries and thinks that Aislinn is the one!Keenan wants Aislinn to be attracted by him and come to him herself to be his queen just like all the other girls had done who he had thought were the summer queens (but were not), but Aislinn has someone else in her mind - Seth.

In the end Aislinn makes the choice - to become the summer queen. But at the same time she stays with Seth too.I loved that the situation between Aislinn and Keenan was completely unpreventable, and yet Aislinn still made the best of it.Keenan is not that happy with Aislinn staying with Seth but he loves someone else too - the winter queen - Donia.

The ending of the book was very sweet and happy (ofcourse...something has to be same about fairy books right?)

I loved all the characters of this book. Aislinn's character was strong and decisive and yet still scared and vulnerable at times. Seth was all tattoos and piercings all over but honest and kind too.Totally stereotype-breaking.

This book is totally worth 5 stars but I gave it 4 because I just thought that in all the awesomeness in this book there was something missing which I can't really point out.Maybe some dialogues, maybe some situations...I just can't point it out. So I am going to let it go for now.

I am going to start the next book in the series - Ink Exchange as soon as I can because Wicked Lovely has so totally increased my curiosity level for all Melissa Marr's books to the point where a wait to long could become agonizing.

Vampire Kisses review

Vampire Kisses (Vampire Kisses, #1)Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

In her small town, dubbed "Dullsville," sixteen-year-old Raven -- a vampire-crazed goth-girl -- is an outcast. But not for long...

The intriguing and rumored-to-be haunted mansion on top of Benson Hill has stood vacant and boarded-up for years. That is, until its mysteriously strange new occupants move in. Who are these creepy people -- especially the handsome, dark, and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town prattle actually ring true? Are they vampires? Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at the risk of her own mortality and Alexander's loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth.
Ellen Schreiber's spooky and stirring romance tells the story of two outsiders who fall in love in a town where conformity reigns, and ends with a shocking surprise.

My review :

Vampire Kisses was a short book which I completed in a really short time. The book didn't have much except the life of a vampire obsessed goth teen - Raven. She calls her town 'Dullsville' as it's a very boring place where nothing much happens. That's why there was a lot of gossip going around when a mysterious family moves into the haunted mansion. Rumors were it that they were vampires because of some signs like they never came out in the morning and all.

Raven being obsessed with vampires became determined to find the truth and sneaked into the mansion to look around. She was caught by the mysterious and handsome Alexander Sterling and ran away . The next day she was invited by him to come over in his house to have a dinner and with that their romance began.

Trevor, a rich spoiled football jock and also Raven's enemy, whom she embarrassed in front of the whole school, also became determined to give Raven a hard time and also make the Sterling feel unwelcome. With his evil plans he succeeded in separating Raven and Alexander but in the end the town turned their backs to Trevor , the brat, and threw a warm party to welcome the Sterling properly. At the end of the part Raven found out that Alexander really was a vampire. And the next day Alexander left leaving a note behind for Raven which read - 'Only because I loved you.'

Teaser Tuesday !

Here is another meme that I found while browsing through many blogs.

Teaser Tuesday is a meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

This is how Teaser Tuesday works:

* Grab a current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

So here is a teaser from one of the books I am currently reading...

“Fair enough,” I said. “Samhain. SOW-WHEN.”
“Okay, Samhain.” He pronounced it correctly. “Your wedding day. So when is it?”
“October thirty-first.”
“Halloween?” He scowled. “How romantic.”

A teaser from Nightshade by Andrea Cremer.

Nightshade: Book 1

I hope it is enough to make the one's who haven't read this book yet, start reading.

City of Glass review

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

In search of a potion for her dying mother, Clary sneaks into the City of Glass and is immediately caught up in a life-and-death battle. As the children of the Moon (werewolves), Night (vampires), and Faerie gather for a war that will rend the heavens, Clary calls upon her untrained powers to control an angel who will save or destroy them all.

My review :

I hoped that the third book will be as great as the second book before starting it, and guess what? I was not disappointed at all! The book was A-W-S-O-M-E!I loved everything about it! The plot, new characters, twist and turns, all of it.

I was so happy when I found out that Clary and Jace weren't actually related. The book had a happy ending kind of end when everyone was together and happy. I did became a little sad when I found out that Max died ( more like murdered ) but didn't cry ( I usually cry a lot when bad things happen in the book - especially to my favorite characters ), because the book didn't have much of Max in it except that he was Isabelle and Alec's small brother and loved reading books.Clary's mother also came out of her 'coma'.

Also about Sebastian, I thought that he would be a nice guy in the beginning but after his weird angry mood swings on Clary I changed my mind about him.And he did come out as the bad guy in the end - Valentine's real son and Clary's real brother with the demon blood. But our hero Jace killed him. Clary with the help of an Angel killed Valentine too.Jace was also killed and after that I almost closed the book and stopped reading because of that, but I thought that the story can't end without Jace. It will just not be.

And then Clary brought him back to life by asking a favor from the angel. It was all so good.

I have become so attached to the characters and I am so glad that they will live longer than just three books. The fourth book - City of Fallen Angels will come out on April 5, 2011. Now that Valentine is dead and Jace and Clary's sibling problem is gone it's quite hard to guess what the fourth book will be about. I think that it will be about Simon because this time it is Simon and Clary on the book cover.

This time I won't hope that the book should be great I know that it will be great. No doubts about that.

And now the wait for the fourth book starts, every second making the wait for the book more intense than before.

City of Ashes review

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2)City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

As readers of series starter City of Bones already know, teenager Clary Fray is a Shadowhunter, a demon slayer who has the gift of spotting Downworlder werewolves, vampires, and faeries. She is also an adolescent in an abnormally dysfunctional family: Her mom is in a magically induced coma and her father is probably insane and undoubtedly evil. All of which places Clary in situations that would challenge even the most talented average American girl.

My review :

The second book in The Mortal Instruments series turned out to be really great! The review that I wrote on the City Of Bones book said that the book didn't have the intense romance ( as I called the thing that was little near missing in the book but it can be something else too ) and because of it  I wasn't that happy. But this book has everything! This book actually showed what really was there between Jace and Clary. The second book has the love triangle sort of thing that I had wanted the first book to have. but that doesn't matter. I love the City Of Ashes book's plot and then Simon turning into a vampire made the book more interesting. Now Clary wasn't just in love with her brother but also now her best friend ( and another one whom she possibly loved )was a vampire! This book also had a lot of fighting and action, but I think a little more than the first book had, which also didn't make the book boring. This book is a kind of an ALL ROUNDER - love, jealousy, hate and sooo much more.Like the first book it is exotic and exhilarating but more than it in many ways. The cliffhanger wasn't very agonizing but it did make you want to find out what will happen ahead about Valentina and also about Clary, Jace and Simon's love story. I hope that the third book is as great as this one was.

Cover Crazy 2!

So I am back again with my next book cover that I am totally going gaga over...

It is...

Shadow Kiss, book three in the Vampire Academy series.

I liked all the three covers of the book that I have seen so long. All of them are beautiful.Well now that I have posted three covers, I should define all three of them too.So here it goes...

In the first cover there is ( I think ) Rose and Dimitri but I am not sure because rose dosen't have green eyes and Dimitri has hair long enough to tie it into a small pony. I am not sure how to describe this cover more than this so let's move on to the next one.

The second cover I think is the best one in all three because the girl in it is really beautiful. And in the book Rose is also described as very beautiful so it goes with the character. The way the girl in thie book is looking at us is really kind of mysterious and dark which goes with the story inside the book well because in this book a lot of dark things have happened.

The third cover is also very beautiful and exotic as it shows lips forming a kiss which goes with the title very nicely. I also liked the red background of the book and the red blood kind of liquid coming down from one of the upper corners of the book and also the way those lipes are formed.

I have even read the series and it is AWASOME!
