Revelations review

Revelations (Blue Bloods, #3)Revelations by Melissa de la Cruz

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

Have you ever wondered what secrets lurk behind the closed doors of New York City's wealthiest families? They're powerful, they're famous... they're undead.

Schuyler Van Alen's blood legacy has just been called into question--is the young vampire in fact a Blue Blood, or is it the sinister Silver Blood that runs through her veins? As controversy swirls, Schuyler is left stranded in the Force household, trapped under the same roof as her cunning nemesis, Mimi Force, and her forbidden crush, Jack Force.

When one of the Gates of Hell is breached by Silver Bloods in Rio de Janeiro, however, the Blue Bloods will need Schuyler on their side. The stakes are high; the battle is bloody; and through it all, Carnavale rages on. And in the end, one vampire's secret identity will be exposed in a revelation that shocks everyone.

My Review:

Revelations - the third installment in the Blue Bloods saga came out quite well.I enjoyed reading the book and was eager to find what's coming up next every time I turned a page.

The plot was great and the characters lives were a little bit more magnified.Too much description on clothing and such was still there, but it was easily overlapped by the great story.

Schuyler is forced to live with the Force twins under the same roof.Schuyler and Jack's romance starts right around then too. The situation becomes quite intense because Schuyler was now romancing with both - Oliver, her conduit+familiar and Jack.I fell really sad for Oliver when he found out about Jack and Schuyler and also feel angry at Schuyler.

Then the Blue Bloods were attacked in Rio De Janiero and many of them were killed. With her luck Mimi is one of the survivors. But the Silver Bloods accomplish in doing their task - setting one of the greatest enemy of Blue Bloods free.

The books ends with a shocking truth, the identity of a vampire is revealed. All of the missing pieces from the first two installments fall into place.I was so stunned, for a moment I just sat their reading the whole ending part again.

Revelation ends with tragic deaths, a heartbreak and an agonizing cliff - hanger and leaves the readers thirsting for more [ at least it left me thirsting for more ].The series is getting better and better with each new book.

Masquerade review

Masquerade (Blue Bloods, #2)Masquerade by Melissa de la Cruz

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

Schuyler Van Alen wants an explanation for the mysterious deaths of young vampires. With her best friend, Oliver, Schuyler travels to Italy in the hope of finding the one man who can help—her grandfather. Meanwhile, back in New York, preparations are feverishly underway for the Four Hundred Ball, an exclusive gala hosted by the city's wealthy, powerful, and unhuman—a true Blue Blood affair.

But it's at the after-party, a masquerade ball thrown by the cunning Mimi Force, that the real danger lurks. Hidden behind the masks is a revelation that will forever change the course of a young vampire's destiny.

Rich with glamour, attitude, and vampire lore, this second installment in the Blue Bloods saga will leave readers thirsting for more.

My Review :

I liked the second installment in the Blue Bloods series even more than the first book.It started shortly after the first book ended.

To find the answers for the attack on Schuyler's grandmother - Cordelia,Schuyler herself and on other blue bloods by the sinister silver bloods,Schuyler, with her best friend + Conduit, Oliver, go to Italy to the find the man suggested by Cordelia ,the one who could help Schuyler kill the silver bloods - her grandfather.

I liked how Melissa De La Cruz continued the story in the second book, but I think that book one and two should have been combined together to form just one book. In the first book I didn't like that a lot of book's content went out in describing clothing and surrounding. But it was comparatively less in Masquerade.

In Masquerade,Schuyler also also learns how to use her full power which sometimes got quite exciting. The books takes a new turn when Schuyler is asked to make Oliver her familiar, by drinking his blood.

The consequences of that are shown in the third book - Revelations. I know that because I have already read the third installment.

The four hundredth ball, followed by the after party - a masquerade ball which goes on with some exciting turns and scenes and finishes with some mysteries unresolved and questions unanswered.

The book ended with a cliff - hanger which makes you want to know right at the moment when you read the last word, what happens next. This book is totally worth 4 stars.

Beautiful Darkness review

Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2)Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review from goodreads.

Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen.

Sometimes life-ending.

Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems.

My Review :

Beautiful Darkness is a great book. It picks up shortly after the Beautiful Creatures ended. It is written in Ethen's point of view.It starts with Macon Ravenwood, Lena's uncle's funeral.Lena starts pulling away from Ethen, blaming herself for her uncles death.Ethen doesn't understand Lena blaming herself until almost at the end of the book, that by trying to save Ethen's life she, without knowing it killed her own uncle.

While pulling away from Ethen, Lena becomes close with her cousin Riley who is a Siren and dark caster and she is the definition of trouble and brings along John Breed who is capable of causing as much trouble as Riley or maybe even more.

Lena starts falling deeper and deeper into the dark side while Ethen starts having weird visions. Ethen is trying his best to help Lena and get her back. Ethen's aunts give him Lucille Ball, a caster cat who plays a major part in finding Lena and also in Ethen's 'visions'.

In Beautiful darkness the authors tell us some more about all the families and how all of them come together and help each other.Amma with the help of The Greats uses Spirit to help Ethen on many life - altering occasions.I loved the new character, Liv - a keeper in training who brakes all the rules keeper's are supposed to keep and helps and journeys with Ethen to the Great Barrier - a place of true power, along with Ethen's best friend Link.

I was so frustrated with Lena's behavior sometimes that I almost stopped reading the book there and there. I hated how she simply wanted to give up and accept that she belonged with the dark side of her family.

I really enjoyed the side stories and the history that unravels through out the pages. There were many times when my heart broke for Ethan. The book ends with many unanswered questions and of course a cliff hanger.

All I can say in the end that if you haven't added this book to your TBR list then add it now.

January - February reviews

In the month of January I read many books but I was quite behind in reviewing them. So I will be reviewing all the books that I had read in January for a while. Some of them I have already review-ed. I will have to slow down reading books now so that I won't be having to much pressure and many review piling over my head.I don't want my love to read and review books to become a forced and a pressuring thing-y.

So there will be review posts on books that are listed below :
I will also review Nightshade by Andrea Cremer but later on because I read it in February.

It's almost like I have posted a schedule and I hope I follow it successfully.

Cover Crazy 3 !

I remember my last post on cover crazy which was on the book Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead and that was posted on the 2nd of January! Almost a whole month ago! So I guess I better start writing another Cover Crazy, but before that let me tell what it is...

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme that was created by Tawni over at The Book Worms to show which cover you are absolutely going crazy over!

So here is the breathtaking cover of...

Ink Exchange by Mellisa Marr

The first thing that we focus on when we see this cover is of course, the wing. It is small ( which looks sooo cute..[ in my opinion ] ) and totally sends out the message - ' hey people this book in based on the fairy world!'

Another thing that I noticed in this book cover was that the girl in this cover is not headless ( thank god for that ) which is the case in almost all the book covers.I loved the colour theme of purplish - blue colour which gives it a magical and enchanted look ( also that one of my favourite colour is blue...)

However, the thing that I loved the most in this cover was the tattoo on the girl's back. I just wish that the girl was a little bit more turned over, the wing takes away the attention from the tattoo.

All in all, the book cover is totally beautiful and I think so is the story inside it, though I haven't read the book yet.I just finished reading Wicked Lovely and I am going to start Ink Exchange as soon as I can.
