Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Review from goodreads:
When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for—her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more.
In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.
My review:
Is this a stereo-type-breaker-book or what?!?I loved it! I think that anyone who will read this book will love it.It's awesome!Bad boy meets good girl, opposites attract and BAM! - we have a great book.
I am the one for paranormal reads and almost always read supernatural stories, so I was quite surprised when I started enjoying reading this book and was eager to turn pages and read more.
Brittany Ellis, a blue-eyed, rich blonde girl is forced to be lab partner with Alex Fuentes,a dark skinned Mexican gang member in Chemistry lab on the first of senior year and they both are not happy about it.And then in arrogance and ego, Alex makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life. Now as Alex starts attracting Brittany towards him, Brittany's carefully created perfect life starts cracking open in front of her eyes. Because falling for Alex means putting in danger her life-long hard work - the reality in which Brittany's life is anything but perfect.
As they both get attracted towards each other with a force they can't control, they both start to understand each others problems.Alex soon realizes that the bet he made in arrogance is going to have big consequences and both are going to get hurt because of it.
Five stars is what this book deserves and it is going to get it, from me and from other readers. This book has made me realize that there are other great books outside my world of paranormal books and I am going to explore it.Simone Elkeles has become one of my top favorite authors and I am pretty sure she is going to stay there for a while.I am looking forward to reading more of her book.

I love when people who often stick to a certain genre take the plunge to try something new and are impressed with what they find. Thanks so much for the lovely email. I'm glad you heeded my advice-the blog looks a lot better! :)
ReplyDeleteI personally stick to contemporary and historical, though I have so many paranormals just sitting on my bookshelf. I actually just recently tried PROPHECY OF THE SISTERS (has the angels/demons thing, but it's a lot more subtle, with magic and visions too), and I loved it.
I loved this book! I'm excited for book three Chain Reaction.
ReplyDeletethanks Cass (Words on Paper)and I will always look forward to your advices..:)
