My New Year Resolutions...

 2010 has passed away in a whiz and 2011 is on the doorstep. Today the 31st of Dec is the last day of 2010 and also the new year's eve! You must be having some new year's resolutions...right?? Lets hope that you have some New Year Resolutions because I have mine.

I would love to complete all my book reading challenges successfully, that I have already signed up for. My Jen's Book World blog is a baby now, I had just opened it in Dec 2010! So I would also like my blog to grow up and become a superstar in blog world. In 2011 I want to read and buy as many beautifully written paperbacks as I can and also a chance to talk/interview many great authors. I hope that my these New Year Resolutions aren't too high...[ :-)].

I would love to have all of the above resolutions of mine to come out smoothly and wish the same for yours.

100 Books In A Year Reading Challenge 2011!

I come again with another challenge in hand. But what can I do, there are soo many cool challenges around that should not at all be left behind. As the title states we have to read 100 books in the whole year of 2011 ( or if you can more than that ). I dont know if I can do that. Cover Crazy!

I was going through some blogs and I noticed that many of them had this 'Cover Crazy' thing in their blog posts. So I thought why shouldn't I do it too. So here it is...

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme that was created by Tawni over at The Book Worms to show which cover you are absolutely going crazy over!

Here is the cover I am totally going crazy over now...



I like the book's background of dark trees which gives the cover a dark and eerie effect which also goes with the story inside it. I also like the intricate design on the title of the book and also that the title is the only bright spot of colour in all the dark around it. The cover is the first thing that the reader sees before scanning it and I surely think that because of this book's cover it will be scanned through a lot ( and of course people will buy the book too ).
All in all the cover gives a mysterious and a beautiful effect which will attract people a lot.

The Dark Days Supernatural Tour and Digital Essentials..OOOH YEAH!!!

According to my daily routine I was browsing through my favourite blogs and that's how ended up...Here! W-O-W...My jaw was hanging open and my expression was literally like :OOO...My sister totally freaked out because of it, until she heard the reason behind it and she was like...Oh cool!

The site has sooo many cool widgets of countdowns and book covers which look so cool ( dorky right? I know.. :) ) and I love them ( talk about the lame and the lamest reasons of all.. :) ). The tour contains the authors I have heard a lot about and was even going to start with the Body Finder series. The books and the authors are :

This site has given me all the encouragement I needed to start reading the Body Finder series and also left me exited and in serious waiting for these books to release. ( I was already waiting for the book Afterlife by Claudia Gray to release because I had finished Hourglass not so long ago and the book ended with an agonizing cliff hanger ).

Now I am going off to put some of these cool widgets on my blog and don't forget to watch this really cool video that they made.

Blue Bloods review

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

I was atounded by how unique the plot was. After Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga, many authors are bringing up stories of vampires and bloodsucking and whatnots. I am not saying that other books don't have the bloodsucking - it is the most vital thing, kind of like a signature of vampires.This book's plot goes on towards heaven and angels and all sorts of that.In most books the majority thinking and background of the vampires are based on this - vampires are the evil creatures of the night, etc, etc.

However, in this series vampires are the angels that fought alongside Lucifer. They were banished to the earth to live off of human blood as their punishment.Their live cycles are usually about 100 years, and then they get reborn into a new body. The blue blood that they carry gives them their name and distinction.

The book is not written in perticularly any one person's point of view. The vampires in this series are said to be indistructible but the real truth id hidden from many of them. The blue bloods can be killed by the silver bloods - vampires who drink other vampires' blood and take thir life force - thire soul away from them.Schuyler Van Alen is the only person - a half blood who can find out how to kill the silver bloods.this search will take her from NY to Venice.

the next book will move the story forward - a cliffhanger, which will only come out after reading the second book in the series - Masquerade.

The plot was great, I even liked the book but I did not feel the spark that makes me want to keep on reading the book till the end and never stop.

Sight Unseen review

Sight Unseen by Robert Goddard

In the summer of 1981, Avebury a women and three children walk in the Neolithic henge circle, a boy nine to ten years old, a seven-year-old girl and the third child who is a toddler. The two children are running around, playing when the nanny, sally Wilkinson gets distracted and the the infant, tamsin hall is grabbed by a man and taken away in a van. It was just supposed to be a simple abduction plan but later turned into a murder case when the infants sister, Miranda hall is run down by a the abductors van.

The historian, david umber becomes a witness of this horrible abduction and murder.
David eventually married the stunned nanny but his wife never moved on from the shock that initially bound them and then committed suicide filled with guilt that she was negligent in her diligence.

Retired Wiltshire Chief Inspector Sharp tracks down david after 23 years and informs him about the anonymous letter he recived with clues to what happened on that fatal day in avebury,1981.The letter focuses on the true identity of an eighteenth century political meddler known as Junius, who happens to be the subject of Umber's Ph.D. research. David begins to reconsider his wife's suicide and wonders if someone murdered her to further bury the truth. The historian and the former cop team up to follow the new leads to hopefully uncover a murderous kidnapper.

The book is innovative and had a very well constructed plot that definitely held my interest and I am sure it will hold your interest as well as any other readers’ interest. The book is well written, although sometimes a bit too detailed on some historical or geographical details. It's a good read but not for those with a short attention span.

Most of SIGHT UNSEEN is well written and good reading. Just make certain you aren't in an impatient mood when you pick this book up. The slowness of the ending will frustrate you – a lot!

Evidence still seems to support his guilt, and Carson must trust her own instincts in order to unravel the truth. In the process, she also finds out some surprising facts about her own life, particularly the family she thought she knew so well. This book combines romance and espionage to tell a thrilling and suspenseful story.
